How to post YouTube videos

Postby Moses057 » 4 Sep 2017 15:40

how to post YouTube videos and have them show up. This is mainly for myself because I keep forgetting how to do this, but, if this helps anybody else that would be great too.

Here's the kind of link I get from YouTube
https://youtu.be/QyN-8CeNSZg

Now for some cut and paste magic

Original link
https://youtu.be/QyN-8CeNSZg

The magic cutting and pasting part
{https://youtu.be/}------------{QyN-8CeNSZg}
------^ Discard----------------------^ Keep and
-----------And----------------------Add to below at the end
-------Replace with======> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=

This is what you should have
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyN-8CeNSZg

Now just put completed link in the middle of
-------------------------------------------------------------------^link goes here

I've never had any problem just copying-and-pasting the URL directly from the search bar in my web browser into the text box and then sticking the youtube tags around it. No need to change any of it, just cut and paste.

Maybe it's different for mobile devices?

That makes sense. I've never understood the constant need for companies like Youtube to re-invent everything with "apps". What's wrong with just viewing the video in a web browser? Why re-invent the wheel--especially when it makes it more difficult to share links like you had to figure out?

Cool! Not sure I am going to use it, but it is good to have so we can direct people to this when they have this question.

I am certain people are going to get some use out of this.

Thanks!
I think my issue is that I'm on mobile. If I even go to YouTube in my browser then copy the link from the bar I get this
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QyN-8CeNSZg
If I post the link in between you get big blank space
See below

So to fix it do this

------------^----------^change m to www
------------^remove space
----------(No spaces allowed)
