Help choosing lock

Postby coto37 » 13 Feb 2019 17:29

Hello,

I am new here. Really like the forum, lots to learn here.

I have some trouble choosing a lock and need some help.

I am trying to choose between:

Evva 4ks
Evva 3ks+
Evva ICS.

I know MCS is like the king of locks, but it is a bit over priced for me, and I also reed here that it might be a bit over kill for home use?

I need a lock for my house front door. I want to upgrade to a better one seeing that the one I have is not very good.

I was wondering wich lock is the best option for safety and more resistant to picking, driling, bumping, etc. I know all locks are pickable but I just want to make it difficult.

Also what does this mean; KZS, VDS, BSZ, SKG?

I see those things here: https://www.schliessanlage.de/schliessz ... m-ics.html I do not speak german so I am lost there.

VDS and SKG I saw in the 4sk PDF on Evvas website.

Sorry about my English, I am from Spain.

Thanks,

Coto.

Hello and welcome to the forum. A 3ks is more than enough for your house door. The 4ks has just minor upgrades over an already great lock.

Cheers :)

Hello, thanks for your reply.

In the webpage I pasted above, I can get the 4ks for the same price as the ICS. And I can not find the 3ks there, only on amazon and it is more expensive.

Also, what does all that KZS, BSZ, VDS AND SKG mean? The 2 first one are optional in the website and bring up the price of the lock a bit.

Thanks

Well, then go for the 4ks

Thanks,

Just one last question, is the 4ks better than the ics? I reed in the forum it is an upgrade to 3ks+ but also maybe easyer to pick?

The 3KS and 4KS are not easily pickable. (Not that the ICS is easy). But since you mentioned bumping, bumping only works with pin tumbler locks. The 3KS and 4KS are not pin tumbler locks and so can not be bumped.
