Top Tier ACS Systems

Hello LockPicking community,

I am currently performing my university graduation internship at a highly reputable organization.
As part of the graduation process, I am doing research to find out which Access Control System will fit the requirements of the organization the most.

I have been searching around for about two weeks now and I found Videx (CyberLock) and Abloy very interesting as they seem to allow high customization.
Sadly enough I am not specialized in access control systems, while it seems like you guys are very knowledged about access control systems and other sorts of door locking mechanisms.

What Access Control Systems do you currently consider high quality, in the sense of security and user experience?
The ACS must be able to work together with ISO/IEC 7816 RFID cards as this type of card has to be used for identification.
Also, the ACS must be hosted on a closed network without any possibility of public internet connections.

You will help me a lot by recommending me some access control systems.
Please let me know if I can do anything in return or if you need more information in order to make a good recommendation!

Thank you!
xiora

Take a look at Identicard and Genetec as two examples. Access control, alarm, employee id, clocking, cctv, etc. are some of the items that can be customized into the system depending on your needs and budget.

Higher end access control systems involve multiple components from several manufacturers so they are not an "off the shelf" kind of item. Most are only sold thru factory trained dealers. This is where an Integrator comes into play to design and implement all of the components to make the end product functional.

You might do well to contact a local access control integrator and see what systems they use. Additionally, contact another local educational institution and see what system they are using and the functionality/issue they have.
