I have picked many Chevy Vehicles, all of them have a minimum of one wafer missing. The first question I have is: Is this normal? Sometimes the vehicle even has 2 or 3 wafers missing. The easy solution is to pick the ignition. However, the GM39 lishi cannot pick ignitions on GM vehicles. I use INSTACODE to find the missing wafers but sometimes there just isn't enough wafers to work with. Any pointers on what I can do to have a higher success rates with finding the missing wafers when 1 or 2 wafers or missing? What about 3 wafers? Thanks.

If you mean the door lock has less wafers than the ignition, yes, that's normal. Unfortunately, other than impressioning the missing wafers, I have no suggestions for you. Good luck

Use A-1's Domestic Killer pick set & pull the ignition lock--cut a key by code to the code on the ignition

Shouldn't the glovebox and trunk locks have more wafers than the door and ignition locks? The reason being that this allows you to provide a Valet Key (which has fewer cuts on it) to someone and only allow them to work the door and ignition, but not allow them in to the glovebox or trunk?

That's not how valet keys tend to work in GM. (From my knowledge) They usually have slightly different keyways, or altogether different keyways, like their console used an old Bommer keyblank.
Also, for progressing to ignition keys, (if I understand your question) I'd suggest suggestive progression from something like Instacode. You put in the values for what you have, and then see what's possible from there. There's some progression books, too.
