What key to open Yale Towne Mfg. Co. Stamford, CT trunk

Hi,

I got this vintage trunk from an auction nearby and I did not realize that it does it have a key. I tried several ways to open it but nothing worked. I searched to similar lock keys and did not work. So I'm wondering if someone here may know what type of keys that I can find online to open this trunk? Or a trick to do it. I know it is a single-sided. Pictures are attached.

It turned out the serial number is at the bottom, Y53. If someone happens to have a key for that please let me know. Thanks!

get some aluminum just shy of the thickness of the key hole at the hobby section of Ace hardware or home Depot hardware aisle and start cuttin.

or anything else you can use from around the house that could get cut into a key...

or walk into a local locksmith shop and ask them for that key cut to that code, some shops have pegs of old keys like this ready for purchase already cut to the most common codes.

I was able to make the key with someone who has the tools and knows how to do it right.
