American Lock 1205 Camo

Postby lokichoki » 21 Aug 2020 19:46

I was lucky enough to come across a QM that had this padlock and his GI's had lost the keys, logistically they can't just replace cores apparently. Its the American Lock 1205 in Camo and I've searched to find one after seeing locknoob pick one and only found one on ebay for $50. Do you guys/gals have any Info on these like are they discontinued were they military contract only etc? I'm torn on whether to sell it or not I doubt I'll find another later Image

Can you post a photo of the other side of the padlock? Depending on the model, it might have a date code on it which will tell you when it was made.

A quick pro tip for posting photos here. The [image] command is programmed to look for an actual file to display, but the link above is a link to an HTML webpage over at imgur.com that happens to have an embedded photo in it. Unfortunately, the [image] command doesn't know how to handle html code and cannot show us the imgur page, it can only show us individual graphics files. If you right click the image in that imgur album, and click "Open image in new tab", your browser will just fetch the picture/photo .png, .jpg, .gif or whatever image format it is. That exact URL path is what the [image] command understand and can display.

Here is a link to the imgur web page album which has code to display your photo https://imgur.com/a/doQlaFe

Here is a link to the specific photo file inside the above album https://i.imgur.com/AFzeAnC.jpg

Now, if I take that https:// URL that ends in .jpg and put it below wrapped in [image] commands, it will show us your photo.

Hope this helps, and yes, I wish it was easier to share and display photos here.

Nice find! Keep this one for your collection. You can sell the next ones you'll find.

Cheers :)
