I am looking for an electronic lock for the outside doors of my house.
I want a lock that can be opened only with an physical electronic key. If the battery dies, then you are stuck outside and cannot get in without an angel grinder. This may seem like an odd request, but it would be easy to find a way of powering the lock from the outside if the battery went flat -- I intend to build in this feature so that an angel grinder won't actually be necessary.
The lock must also NOT have bluetooth or wifi, so that it is impossible to access remotely.
Every electronic lock I can find for sale has "backdoor" access. I.e. they are all designed so that access is possible if the battery dies or if the electronics fail.
My requirements seem like an obvious product niche. Right?
I ask because this will help determine what kind of cylinder your door will accept.
Cyberlock is probably what you are looking for. They sell cylinders that will fit into common formats. Example: you can remove the cylinder from your Schlage deadbolt (certain models only, not the ones sold at Home Depot or Lowes) and install a Cyberlock cylinder and be done in 10 minutes)
Need to know also, Do you want Wireless? Magnetic Key or Card, other? Does it have to be Battery Powered? You could add a hidden recessed Reed switch, So presence of a Magnet, (on a Ring?), Would also have to be present at same time as Key? You can provide power, ground could be at hinge? by running a wire to an insulated screw for your positive, can be anywhere, but needs to be accessable, to power, if no power present(No Battery or AC power), I would use an Alarm type Charger and Battery. Are you thinking Maglock, Electric Bolts? Plus above Questions. An RF Fob?. If you have a Watch with IR capabilities, you could transmit IR to a Or Target to control a Relay, Xantech makes?made? a 6 Channel IR Relay Controller, sill have 1, The remote can teach and learn IR codes, you could go more secure to where you had to enter 6 Codes n exact order.

The issue with locks in general that there aren't many good ones. that's even more true for electronic locks. They are sold for convenience and not for security.

Not entirely true. Some electronic locks offer audit trails and schedules which do increase security to some degree. From a physical attack standpoint though you are correct. Unless we get into locks for SCIF rooms, which due to government standards are built with extra security measures.
No matter what lock, a Security System can help. DSC Power 1832 is what I Like Best, Am told the Neo is better? I have to look into it. They make a TL150(IP Comunicator), allows Remote Arm/Disarm, and Zone Status, No Monthly, The 1832 has 2 onboard Programmable outputs, the 1864 comes with 4 PGM's. If any water sensors detect water(hardwire,wireless), I have it shutoff water supply to house within 2 seconds. If any Perimeter Door is open 5? Minutes, AC shuts off, also if Heat or Smoke is Detected, AC Shuts off, keeps from circulating smoke throughout the house, and adding fuel(air)to the Fire. I like using a Viking RC 4, 4 Relay Controller, you can control 4 SPDT relays, and can be notified of any opening and closing of contacts. Can notify you of alarm, or zone violation, No Monthly. Unlimited what you can do with these
SDC Electric Bolts work well. I did one with the Bolt with a roller ball plunger, not for status, but so bolt won't extend til door is closed. Door could be open by Phone System, Wireless, and a momentary pushbutton inside. When activated, Bolt is retracted, and held retracted, til door is closed, plunger releases bolt. Works Extremely Well.
