What kind of a mortise cylinder tailpiece is this?

Postby JonathanReez » 23 Dec 2020 1:50

I have a sliding door made by a local manufacturer (Fleetwood) and recently I needed to get a lock for it as my door didn't come with an external locking mechanism originally. Since the lock slot used on the door has a standard mortise cylinder, I've figured I could just get a spare cylinder and attach a tailpiece. Unfortunately I was not able to find a similar tailpiece on the market, so I ended up getting a spare cylinder from the manufacturer. However I'm still curious - is this a common tailpiece type? If not, would it be easy to make on case the manufacturer goes out of business and isn't able to sell them anymore? Here are the photos:

It looks specific to the mfg of the lock.

Interesting. I have never seen one of those. Looks easy enough to make though.
