Y5 vs. Y6 difference?

I was looking at blanks to fit a padlock -- and it appears (from just looking at the catalog) that the Y5 and Y6 are similar in keyway profile and length--fromm shoulder to tip.
The difference appear to be the shoulder style. Is this accurate? Can I generally substitute one for the other?

Here they are side by side. (see pic) The only differences I see is the shoulders are different lengths and the heads are slightly different. From shoulder to tip is the same distance. Don't think they fit a Y1 para keyway. They are much smaller blanks.

They most certainly do fit a Y1 kwy. They are just shorter form shoulder to tip.

Jeff to the rescue...I really set my self up on this one. I just got a box of about 100 cylinders, and when I checked the Y5 & Y6blanks I just grabbed a Yale with a very roached out kwy. Well of course they fit I think any key I grabbed would have fit in that junk cylinder. Sorry to anyone I might have misled that might have read my careless B.S.

Y52 is a small keyway used for padlocks and cabinet locks.
