All,
Recently got in to rekeying my home locks just to learn something new. Have a set of Schlage pins and a follower and rekeyed all entry doors.
Picked up an Abus 83/45 padlock to try to rekey to the same key as the house, to use for my shed. Used lock off ebay.
Cylinder is out, but I can't figure out how to remove the core from the cylinder. All signs point to the "detent" at the end needing to be released, but I swear this detent is fixed and cannot be pushed in, despite the core having a c-clip at the end that would make you think it should come out. Visually it looks like a solid extension of the core.
Is there a chance this lock cannot be rekeyed? I was under the impression that all Abus were rekeyable.
The cylinder is stamped with a "300". Lock generation appears to be Series 1 (red Z-bar).
Thanks in advance!
