Multipick or Law Lock sets?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Multipick or Law Lock sets?

Postby PBYOcarrol » 17 Mar 2021 9:37

Hello everyone,
I have the Sparrows Dark Shift kit, which is a great starter kit but want to upgrade.
I am torn between choosing Multipick, which is more expensive and Law Lock which is quite new and I like their look.
Any advice would be helpful?
Thx

We cannot make make this decision for you. Both are very good pick makers.
The Multipick are good all rounders but are generally old and uninspired picks. While Law lock tools has some very nice ideas and execution.

I've got a set of both and it depends on the set you get. Valyrian for instance is great value, loads of hooks but no rakes if you'd prefer those.
Maybe buy a few of each and see what you like more.

I loved the look of the law lock renegade pro, two different gauges and SSP biased. They appear very innovative and fresh. I checked the Valaryan set and they look amazing.
In the end I saw a vid from lock noob with a set of multipicks that he curated, he did great job putting an imaginative kit together with minimal rakes and many hooks in two gauges, plus some dimple picks.
It was pricey but you can’t beat German quality and they come with a 30 year guarantee.
I may order a couple of laminated picks from Law lock. I would appear to be SSP heavy with my multipick set so perhaps some Rakes?
