In the past I mentioned it would be nice to get Keys Blanks that had laser cuts showing depth and Space marks, just saw on YouTube, guy cuts Kwikset by code with "Clipper Keys", he makes 2 clips at each space with a Lishi Clipper. Works

Anyone know where to get Clipper Keys, Google for me only brought up the YouTube video? Thanks Key is aluminum, and Blade looks like it is milled thin, for easy clipping.

Hey thanks, Haven't got into Impressions yet, as have been able to do with out. Was thinking they might could help. Does it seem like they could speed things up as you just cut to the depth? Thanks again

What a great idea! For locks like Kwikset with only 6 depths, that’s awesome.
The sheep generally do not like the sheepdog. He looks a lot like the wolf. He has fangs and the capacity for violence. The difference, though, is that the sheepdog must not, can not and will not ever harm the sheep.

for Kwikset I think it'd be fine. I'm hesitant to use aluminium keys for much of anything, but a pre-scored blank is a boon in many ways, I'd say.

For a person who already owns a key machine & depth keys, I just don't see it. It can't take any longer to cut a key with depth keys in my van than it takes to clip it

Being made of Aluminum wouldn't work, if made from a stronger Material, maybe, I do have a Blitz, a Speedex, depth Keys, not looking for speed, Just Is it Doable? Once past a Depth, just file to next depth, eleminating all the checking between the Depths? Just a thought

It is doable. However, I would treat it like an impressioned key. The clipped aluminum key should be used as a template to duplicate keys onto brass or NS blanks.
Just my two cents.

Aluminum may be good for clipping. Laser cut on brass or steel(whatever better material), might be a way to go.

I have heard stories from clients who watched poor locksmiths in other countries hand file customers keys because they couldn't afford a key machine, let alone electricity to power it & those hand-filed keys worked fine, so why shouldn't clipped keys?
