You may consider refraising the scentence because I have no clue what you're talking about. And anybody else on this forum who reads that post won't either. Aswell as asking complete questions, using the search engine is also a useful tool for this site. And if you don't want the old fellas on this site getting mad at you, USE IT FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a guy on this site who keeps try to get new people who ask vauge questions to errantly stick thier finger in an electrical outlet or light socket. Rumor abounds he has succeeded more than once, so please be very weary of him! You can find a list of master padlock combinations somewhere on the net, I don't know where. It's a good starting point.

well i have these combination locks, and they dont have a keyhole, and i cant open them... any ideas?

it makes for better searching for other people trying to find the same information - it also makes for better subject lines that people can read to determine whether they should read the post or not.

as for answering your question - there is information available on this subject in this forum - you need to search some more.

Speaking as a newbie (7 days), I understand and agree completely with the behavior of the old timers. If someone is actually interesting in really learning about this hobby, then they will take the time to read what others have already posted. The MIT guide, Matt Blaze's notes, Pillar Com's Impressioning Guide, and Paul Halliday's compromising locks are all great references and I found all of them in old posts. I've even copied some of Romstar's and Peaky's novels that they have typed in as a reply to a legitimate question.

These newbies that register with a throw away e-mail account, enter the same message in multiple areas and then disappear are wasteful of bandwidth and my time.

I lurked for a month reading the posts and tracking down the references to other websites. I've learned a heck of a lot and in turn I'll pass that on.

Go back and read some of the posts. When a newbie submits an intelligent question that is well thought out and expressed - he will get multiple replies with a lot of suggestions and references.

That is all I have to say about that.

I must say: I don't believe that it's only the mod's job to help the newbies.

the thing that makes this a community is the fact that we all help eachother. in fact - we are all at various stages of newbieness... it's just a matter of training the people who don't ask inteligent questions. not all people who are new to this are like that.
