Help Rick get from Canada to Baltimore to crack a safe!

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Help Rick get from Canada to Baltimore to crack a safe!

Postby Webpirate22 » 18 Jul 2023 10:48

Hello,
I am hoping I am allowed to post this in this area.
Some of you might recognize me from other social media sites and some may have no idea who I am.
I am a enthusiast who specialized in Manipulation. I have no interest in the drilling aspect of safe openings. I consider myself very active in the sport(if you'll include it in the locksport arena) having Manipulated 27 safes open this year alone.

The reason I am posting this here is because:

I am hoping that I will be able crowdfund a plane ticket to Baltimore to film a documentary of me Manipulating a safe open that's been locked for many many years.

The news story can be seen here : https://vm.tiktok.com/ZM2V2sLXs/ and here https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/comm ... 2VZFLC5Y4/

I think it would be a cool conclusion to the news story.

I don't mind driving around my home province and eating the cost to open a safe but a plane ticket to another country is a bit much to eat.

If I don't crowdfund enough by August 1st I'll be refunding the donations because I only have 2 weeks of holidays from work starting July 29th.

If anyone is interested in helping this mini doc. you can donate here.

Rick,

I saw your post about this on the Facebook safe and vault group, and I just gave $100 US to help get you from Canada to Red Emma's Bookstore in Baltimore in order to crack that safe that was in the news!

I can vouch for Rick/Webpirate22 as being an awesome safe cracker and encourage everyone who can to help fund his trip to Baltimore Maryland to crack that old safe that no one else has been able to.

Red Emma's Bookstore tweeted about the safe:

Photos of the safe, it appears to have a York safe logo on the bottom of the doors, and the dial coin says Herring Hall Marvin. The square part of the handle and the hinges and hinge acorns look more HHM than York in my opinion, possibly an ex postal safe. What do you guys think?

I found a video!

The idea of making a documentary about this great adventure is really cool and I'm sure everyone in our hobby would enjoy watching it.

Thank you for your help and generous contributions, please make a donation here: https://www.givesendgo.com/MBSAFCRKR while it is fresh on your mind, thank you!

Give me a few days to pay myself and I’ve got you. It won’t be the whole thing but I’ll add a chunk.

Update: Good news everyone, Rick's trip from Canada to Baltimore to crack that safe has been fully funded!

A huge thanks to everyone here who stepped up, with CanoePick pitching in a big chunk to make this a reality.

Rick will be in Baltimore in early August and we hope to have more updates at that time.

Thank you everyone, you're all rock stars!

He did it!

Rick cracked the safe at Red Emma's Bookstore!

There is more to come tomorrow, but here is a sneak peek from the door being opened a hair earlier tonight:
