Champion 6 lever brass padlock

I have a Champion 6 lever brass padlock that someone has broken a key of in the key way. I have been trying to gently remove the broken piece but there is not much to hold onto with pliers or tweezers.
My question is, would pulling out forcefully damage the lock? I guess it is not usable as is anyway, but would like to get it out. Don't know if it is the original key or a wrong key that someone was trying. How would one pick this old lock if I do get it out?

You can use a key extractor to dislodge the broken piece.

I haven't tried that because it would be a really tight fit to get the extractor in there, and was worried that might get stuck also.

No sure if this will help you but way back when (2017) I did a small write -up on how to take these apart (as a last resort). Even if you don't want to take yours apart you can still see
what the insides look like.

Thank you. I think that is what I will end up having to do. The broken key must really be wedged in there somewhere, and there is very little to grab onto. Seeing how the lock works and others fixing the common problems with them should be a big help. I am guessing the lock had a problem for this to have happened, unless someone really forced a wrong key in there.
