Homemade cutaway

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

What I meant was, the time and effort you put into it along with the cost of the item would ballpark around $35.

When I made my improved cutaway- see homebrew pick set topic- I needed safety glasses and a dustmask because I had to see up close, real close what I was doing... and the 426 disk survived.

Due to the thickness of the mortice cylinder the dremel jammed several times, this stressed out the bearing so basically the tool is on it's last legs or well nigh shot.

Obviously best to have a bandsaw or milling machine or other metal shop-type saw.

#426 lable reads: Reinforced cutoff wheels- 5 per pack.

If they are the ones I'm thinking of they have a cross hatch sort of patern on them, right? As for the dremel wearing out, I did manage to break the little post (I think they're called collettes, or something like that) that the cutoff wheel gets mounted to twice! Fortunately I had extras, but now I'm on my last one. :)
