Whats the best pick brand you can get in AUS?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Whats the best pick brand you can get in AUS?

Anyone know which picks are the best (available in AUS)? Trying to find something cheap and works fine. :D

And another question: R there any pics sold non-internet (retail)?

G'day. Firstly, being that you are in NSW, you will need a 2BC Security Industry Licence and must be working for a Locksmith company to purchase lock pick sets from either a Locksmith supplier or if you get them via the internet then be prepared for nasty Customs letters and potential confiscation of what you order.

Secondly, it isnt really the picks that work well but the skill of the user. A Hook pick made by HPC, Majestic, SouthOrd or Rytan etc etc, will all work the same ( relatively ) if the user has the appropriate skills and tension / torque tool.

In terms of price ( if you are a Locksmith ) the Majestic picks are slightly less that the Rytan or HPC products, but I have used all abovementioned brands extensively and can say that there isnt much difference ( only really in variety and cost ) in actual use.

Or you can just make them yourself, there are plently of sites and links dedicated to home made picks etc.

Good luck ( only if your intensions are good and you are a legitimate practicioner of the Locksmithing craft ).

:D

Your best chances are to order southord from the us (don't order any guides otherwise they get reall pissed off)

Or befriend a lockie with a lsc account..then get him to get you a nice set of hpc's..or even if he has an account with lock n key, you could get soem majestic's..

Making your own is the way to go if you don't have the money to order from the us and don't have a lockmsmith as a friend.

Cool, thx for the help.

I managed to make some picks just in case cant get my hands on retail picks. Seeing as i havent got a grinder, and im 13 yrs old, it was very hard to make one. I went to my friends house and we used the stone grinder with no permission!   , although we did use safety and all that. My best pick is made of stainless steel and I carved it from a cheap knife. (im an idiot, how do you attach an image on this?)

Anyway ill try to get some picks someday.
