My homemade pick

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Wind sheild wiper blade inserts

Postby Geek142 » 2 Apr 2005 0:20

Hello

I was wondering if someone could give me some Hints. I wish to try making tension tools and a snap gun out of wind shield wiper blade inserts but cant seem to find any. I have been looking on cars including ones that arent in use (old scrap ones) but i can seem any, them seem as if its just plastic or is it actually in the wind shields Could some one help?

Thanks

The metal a thin insert that is in some models of windshield wiper blades. You need to take the blade off the vehicle and remove the insert from the rubber. Though you can still buy the metal wiper blades, a lot these days do not contain metal at all, so you may well still strike out.

in the UK, wiper blades are made of the metal bit that attaches to the car, it has 2 sort of arms on it, the wiper blade then slots into them. the blade itself is really soft black rubber, if the metal bit wasnt there, the blade would not only fall out but would also bend all the time and be useless for cleaning windows!

i dont know what wiper blades are like there, you must have some sort of different design or something!

Thought I'd post a few of my own. I'm looking for suitable hacksaw blades to make my own "computer style" picks.
