Been visiting this site for a couple of months now and have had a great many successes on many locks. Have picked every Master Lock I have got my hands on. Made a lock picking practice board with many different lock cylinders in it. BUT, I bought this cheap padlock that is gold in color and the only identification on it is a tag that is riveted on the front. It says it is a Tri-Heart and under that is "Made in China" I boughtit at a flea Market in North Carolina for Half a dollar and I have been trying to pick it now for about a month with no success at all. I was going to post a picture of the front of it and the keyway, but, I have searched the site and cannot for the life of me find out how to post a picture or pictures. How do you post a picture on this site? Cannot imagine why I am having so much problem with this lock. Since it was SO inexpensive I don't think it has any security pins in it,but then again it may. Since I am new to the hobby I really can't say. That is why I wanted to post a picture so I could see if somebody else has run across one of these and give me a few pointers. It opens with the keys still so I haven't screwed anything up. BUT, I will not get discouraged and I WILL PICK THIS LOCK! Mainly wanted to introduce myself and say thanks to all of you who have given so much good advice to so many people. Thanks to all and maybe one of you can tell me how to post the pictures.
Sincerely, KB9TKE

Hi all
40 year old who returned to school, 2nd year B.S. computer science. Every thing is going to
computers from autos to locks. I find working with my hands relaxing between bouts of
calculus. Half of the fun for me is making the tools. Jewlers screwdrivers ground down
with stones, not for the faint of heart and cotter pins for tension wrench, yes I know it is
soft but, the answer is tickle not tension. I may not have time to post much but, will read
post when I get time. Thanks for all the info.
Thank You E. W.

I too have been reading on this site for quite sometime. I am overwhelmed at the amount of information here, and I had no idea how popular this profession/ hobby is. I have very limited experience with "alternative entry" as a former sheriff's deputy, but I am looking for a challenging hobby and I cannot wait to learn more. Great site - keep it up!

Hello all, I'm a 43 year old storage facility manager. I found this site while trying to find out more info than this book can offer, and I've found a lot of good stuff here so far. I've always had an interest in locksmithing and locks since I was a kid, and now that I have a real need to learn it, it can be a lot of fun. I've picked about 6 different locks so far, and I have to agree with some of the posts I've read that it's strange how easily you can get into a slump. I've only had one lock get picked under pressure, and was pretty happy about that, (it was a master No. 1 I wanted for a practice lock lol), but of course I have two locks I need to open on some deliquent units that I can't get yet. One is a slim cheap looking master I think, and the other is a Uhaul Maximum secruity round lock. I'll just keep up with the practice and try to digest some more of the book. Actually, someone posted a .pdf on the site that is the same book, but has more chapters than my book that came with the picks has, so I'd like to thank the person who posted that. Anyway, enough rambling, keep up the great work all
Nothing hits the spot like an ice cold homebrew.

Thanks for an excellect resource! I've contemplated having a locksmith business for years, and would like to see if I have what it takes. I look forward to chatting with you folks, and reading more about whether it could be a profitable business venture for me. I know I'll enjoy learning about it, regardless.
Regards,
Matt
