On the subject of key blanks, can anyone tell me where i can find blanks to fit French warded locks?
I can make some, but Im having trouble with one that has a Z shaped profile.

Any ideas?

you could have key way wards (odd shaped key holes). a keypost on one sided locks. any internal wards can be point, partial or full. you may have dividing partitions through the lock (like the face plate but deeper into the lock, these can also be partial) and you can have wards attatched to the inside of the face plate, or the back plate, or any dividing wards. these can be simple pins protruding, prone to damage and wear, or fully circular like the collar wards still commonly found in many locks. i'm working on some diagrams of wards to illustrate the above as well as pictures of the keys for each. chris b, are you going to post more on this here? i was going to put my diagrams in clearly labelled thread so new folk can find them easily.
