Hello Everyone,
How you all doing?
I have been looking at this site for about 6 months now and finally got around to joining it. I have always been interested in messing about with locks. Then a couple of years ago i bought on of the blue extendable picks like the one in the picture at the top left of the page. I followed the instructions and managed to open my parents front door in about 10 seconds. I was really impressed with it being a brand new double glazed door. Anyway, i now have the Southord PXS-17 and practice on padlocks etc. My failure rate is more than my success rate i have to say though. Hope i havent bored you too much with my life history.
I have one question though i have a lock which i need to open i think it is a tumblar lock, the kind in drinks machines, pool tables etc. Can anyone tell me what i need to be able to open it. I do have pictures however i cant put them on here as i dont know how.
I would be greatful for any assistance.
Thank You[/img]

Hi, I'm new at lock picking, just joined.
If it's stuck force it, if it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

Hi all,
A little about myself (Yawnn!)
I have just lost my job and have been thinking of retraining for a new career for a while now, and a friend suggested training as a locksmith as he is thinking of doing the same, and so here i am!
I have, for the last two days, been trawling the 'net for info on lock-picking, courses, kit, etc, and was of course, a bit miffed at all the companies who claim that they are the best for training and everyone else isn't (Well, alot of them sort of suggest it, in other words, you know) but after finding this site, especially with the list of quality course, has really given me the 'morale boost' to really want to do this, and of course, now armed with ALL the relevant info, i now know exactly what i need to do and spend out. I know this all costs alot, but then nothing in life worth doing is free, eh? So i know i will 'find' the money somewhere soon (Any suggestions? Someones' thread mentioned the DSS. How would i go about this?) Any helpful info would be great.
Anyway, i won't bore the pants off you all any longer, just want you all to know i'm just glad to have found what seems an honest, commited and helpful 'community' here, and thanks to all you experienced guys and girls who take the time to put all this info up on the site.
Thanks all,
Kastle (Matt)

Hi everyone!!!
I've been lurking around these forums for quite a while, but just never got around to introducing myself. I got into lockpicking one day when I got locked out of my house =P Anyways, this site is awesome, helpful, and quite amusing.
That's all for now. Bye!

Go figure...LOL
Been interested in the subject matter for years - finally letting go of another hobby and thinking this one might be a bit more "home based" for me, allowing more time with my wife & pooches.
I recently started a non-profit organization which still keeps me in touch with my previous much-loved hobby of off-roading my Jeep, but it's all out-of-the-house stuff. I'm looking to learn new things and possible build (over the years) both my skills and a small business. Heck, I know one parking garage where I'd camp every day at 5PM...LOL
Great site - huge resource.
Can't wait to learn more.

Hi,
I found this site by accident IT'S GREAT!!! I am self taught and have be studying and picking locks for around 35 years. I've made all my own tools since I started picking. Even with all the years I've done this I know I'm going to learn a lot from you guys.

Hey guys! I just joined yesterday and am going to be teaching myself when my first pick set arrives (sometime soon I hope, how foolish of me to money order ). I've been able to make padlock shims and open up a padlock, but I haven't been able to pick anything with the paperclips I have. I can't really get a good tension tool because they bend with the pressure and I can't find any of my small allen keys.
