 Hehe
congratultions Ezzi!
What material did you use? Hacksaw blades, junior hacksaw blades, bristles, ...? You might post a pickture of it so we can vive you some feedback on it (good picks should give you alot of feedback, in both meanings). I am using a dremel and find most of the time goes into finetuning and finishing. 2-3 hours a pick seem reasonable to me, depending what you intend to make. So does raimundo (one of our pickmaking gods ) , and he workes mostly with files. Check out the varios treads on pickmaking and DIY picks. There are amounts of tips/tricks, ideas and templates floating around in this forums.
Have fun, and keep picking!

Nice try...

Wow. You have successfully unseated raimundo as the king of the run-on sentence. Seriously tho, congrats and happy picking!

I just made my first picks. I want critique though, I know the hack-saw blades were not the greatest ones to use, but they were the cheapest they had.
I still must make a rake, but after using a dremel, I will wait until we get the bench grinder all set up...

Aeolus, looks like you used a template for a Falle-Safe style of pick, you may find the hook is a bit deep, if so just file it down some. I would get all the rough edges off your pick and wrench, if you start getting into this your hands will be raw before long Your tension wrench seems very long, imagining both of your tools in the lock at the same time might be a bit tight, in any case, nice work
