Hello I am new to lock picking. I've picked a few locks with paper clips and a screw driver before, mostly padlocks and car doors(nothing illegal, mostly cause I am prone to locking myself out of stuff ), but I found it very interesting because I love a good challenge. My name is Alex.

I was looking at getting into this as a personal hobby, any suggestions on tools or literature are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

welcome, search the site and you will undoubtably find the answers to the questions you asked. A quick suggestion of not picking car doors, that is not really looked up upon in this site, at least if you are using it and especially if it is not yours. enjoy and welcome to the hobby

Well I've always wanted to be able to pick locks, something of a cool hobby or something I've always been interested in. Well anyway I just figured today that I'd look up online if there were guides and tutorials on it and there was... So I ended up making my own tools and figuring out that there is much more to this than I thought. I'm eager to learn the know-how of doing this and hopefully I'll get decent at it... I've been practicing with my only lock, a master 140, and apparently, upon further investigation, it's even hard for the novice lock pickers... lol... So does anybody know of an easy lock for a n00bie to pick?

I would recommend a kwickset deadbolt. The master 140 shouldn't give you alot of trouble once you get more acquainted with how a pin tumbler works. Practice, Patience, and Time are very valuable, so ake advantage of them.

Yeah, i can tell you want you need. I am new here everyone just incase you wanted to know. I ordered a pickset from southord it should be here in a couple of days. I also just quick wanted to add that the other day i picked a padlock with a paperclip and the metal piece at the top of a pen (you know the part were u can attach it to ur pocket and all that good stuff), yeah it was pretty sweet but not as as sweet as then picks that are coming.

Well, to get started either order some picks online or, buy some hacksaw blades break them into 3 parts, and make picks, and most important READ THE M.I.T. GUIDE!!! if you need any further info i will be more then happy to answer ur questions, just drop me and email at thedonofdeath@yahoo.com I will answer any questions to the best of my ablility.
