Locksports Club

Postby freakshow » 6 Sep 2005 16:44

Well, just getting into grade 10, and I was curious about starting a locksports club at my school. I was wondering what you guys think, and perhaps some tips on how to pitch the idea to the principal, and advertising it for students to join.

Do you have a good reputation at that school?
Explain to the principal that locksports are not about stealing things and commiting crimes, but about the challenge of opening locks. Maybe he should think of upgrading the locks on the school, too

It's my first year here. I wasn't planning on doing it immediately but when I get the chance.

We could think that this is a good idea at first, but I'm pretty sure your idea would be refused. Just think about how many people with intentions of using illegaly lock picking skills it would attract.

Geez we're alway comming again with law issues.......... But lock picking is soooo cool!

the bad peoples!!!! They ruin the sport, eh? I don't know, but I wouldn't screen each kid to make sure if they aren't using it for illicit purposes. Besides, some bad kids may just want to start a new hobby anyways, rather than break in. Ahh, who knows. I might just give private lessons for picking instead. But, no matter what, I will provide this link, because this website's so bloody helpful.

I can tell you right now, you have no chance. Try to make a locksports club out of school. Don't inform the school officials of anything, don't take your picks to school, don't brag about how good you are to people at school (unless you trust them) and don't do anything stupid (you know what I mean). Schools and lockpicking don't mix. :?

Yeah, I thought about it for a while... I'll just start one outside school.

But it makes the principals respect you as being smarter than them...

Respectful? Probably. Suspicious? Definitely. :? If you're already on his/her sh*t list, expect to be blamed for every theft until you graduate.

Yeah, I also would say that a highschool is just not the place for a locksport club. I think just about anybody knows how I feel about locksport clubs, but that just isn't the right place for it.

Definately consider something out of school, and check out the www.locksport.com website for some info (plug plug).
