I have been trying to make my own tension tool I had tried road sweeper bristles a bit thin I had tried windscreen wiper steel that was a wee bit soft but I have found an ample supply of spring steel good quality CHEAP that’s the important bit and readily available dimensions are 1mm thick by 3mm wide by 4x 2meters if you buy a cheap pop up laundry basket I used a square 1 and pulled the spring steel from inside it there is ample amount to keep you happy it anneals easy and re tempers well pretty good quality give it a try I got 2 baskets from the local £1 shop so it didn’t hit my pocket to hard
