If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

I never opened my mine once.. I don' have dimple picks, but the drivers as said are rediculous.

the best ive managed so far was 3 or 4 pins set/false set. i was using a bent long southord hook wrapped in electrical tape and reinforced with another pick cut down and glued on the back then wrapped tightly.

the drivers are like spools on crack. some are like negative spools, some are like negative spools with the center milled out. and the inverted spool ends are varying lengths.

Good luck.

John

PS as i have one in bits if i can get a digi cam ill take some pictures.

Beat me to it mate, I have to charge mine.

The drivers are great though.. especially in this application.

I wouldn't deem this adavanced as the bottom pins are passive meaning they do nothing but block key inserted thats not cut for the lock.

If it were me.. I'd bypass mech. alltogether, but If you were looking to buy this as a good lock for a rainy day it's worth it.

look at You Tube and look for videos by Carl_Mor 6929 or whatever his name is, and also vids by sochilons, wzlom, etc. some of these guys, I forget who, have the focus set right and you can see the picks,

if you just type in dimple locks in the search, that may bring you to the various videos, then you can click to see all vids by a particular poster.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!

8) Hi Zikmik, that are very nice picks ! Did you make them yourself ?

What is the basic material of these picks, and do you have templates of this ?

don't worry about the pins on the opposite side to the bible. they are what are known as passive pins. ignore then they don't need to be picked. concentrate on the 6 pins mounted at the bottom.

Thanks for the tip, also thanks to raimundo.
I watch Carl_Mor 6929 videos and he mostly use snake pick. I try with my snake pick from SouthOrd JPXS-6 Jackknife but no luck.

I will keep trying and concentrate on bottom ones...

Sorry to correct you JackNco, but the Pins on the upper side are active. We're actually talking about two different locks here, although they have the same face.
The original post shows the Abus EC750/EC850/Cisa Astral, which ist exactly the same lock sold under different brandings. To pick them, I use a standard snake pick inserted sideways (using SPP, not raking, of course).

Zikmik has a rare model, an old EC700/EC800. These were the predecessors of the EC750/850 and their upper pins are active. You can tell the difference by looking at the plug, which is smaller in the EC700, and at the "upper dimples" (the four) on the key, which vary in depth.
So, youre ut to a funny 10-pin experience, zikmik :)

Oh, and your rake picks will only fit with a lot of luck - I haven't encoutered an EC750 which could be opened by raking yet. EC700 are even harder. So I'm afraid you have to rely on SPP.
