Good morning all, joined a couple of months back, just really starting to get into lockpicking. Don't want a career change, just a new hobby. :D
Great site, btw!

INTRODUCTION

Postby gene2112 » 21 May 2008 2:03

Hi, I'm a recent lock pick enthusiast living in Japan. I have some questions/comments I'll post in the forum concerning Miwa/Miwa U-9/and other double wafer locks, as these are what I'm interested in.

Peace all,

I'm a relative noob to lockpicking and I am seriously considering locksmithing as a possible career change after I retire from the public sector. In the distant past I've picked simple warded padlocks and a few barrel-type combo bicycle locks (funny story about that one) but nothing beyond pre-school level as you can see.

Locks and their workings have piqued my interest off-and-on since about 1980 or so- I bought a TAB book back then titled "The Complete Book of Locks & Locksmithing" by Carl Roper and still have it. Books are fun but you just don't get the adrenaline rush like you do when you successfully pick a lock open...!

This board has a real wealth of information and I do hope I am able to somehow contribute back to the community.
