Edit*: If this is a family farm, your family most certainly has a key to this lock, or would have removed it with bolt cutters to get to whatever they thought was valuable enough to lock up in the first place.
Would you mind providing a picture of this lock unlocked with a key? This would validate without a doubt that you are not looking to defeat someone else's lock.
