Help ID lock

Postby mspdude » 8 Apr 2014 13:46

I'm relatively new to this hobby and have been playing around with locks around my grandparents farm. I found this lock and can't seem to do much with it. It doesn't have any writing or branding on it at all, can anyone ID what this lock could be?

Sorry for the crappy photos! I can take better ones if need be!

Wilson Bohannon, most commonly used by utility companies.

Squelchtone wrote:Please take no offense to this or all the offense you want, but we get people here once in a while who have literally 1 post, just joined today, post a close up cell phone photo of a lock they just need to get into, and 9 times out of 10 its something like a utility cabinet, utility meter, vending machine, apartment complex cleaning closet, a college dorm room, etc and since this is the internet and I cant validate your story easily, please help us feel more at ease by posting a photo of [what exactly this is locking shut]. We want to help all who come here, but it doesn't hurt to to validate a story.

Please understand we are going on many many past posts JUST like this one and many of those turned out to be people trying to get into something they maybe had access to, but no right to be getting into.

If I totally misunderstood your situation, all apologies, but please try to see it from our point of view.

Thank you,

The Management

Doesn't exactly instill confidence in the back story either.

Edit*: If this is a family farm, your family most certainly has a key to this lock, or would have removed it with bolt cutters to get to whatever they thought was valuable enough to lock up in the first place.
Would you mind providing a picture of this lock unlocked with a key? This would validate without a doubt that you are not looking to defeat someone else's lock.

looks like an old Lockwood 234AA padlock like they used for VicRail. Are you in oz?
