if you actually change out the entire hardware and the new Weslock version takes a Schlage or Kwikset KIK/knob cylinder, companies such as Medeco, a high security lock company, make Schlage shaped/style retrofit cylinders and that would solve your problem, they are are very hard to pick and getting bump keys is not at all trivial, you pretty much have to make your own and own a key machine, something neighborhood teens arent going to have access to. I'd check with a locksmith or calling Weslock to see if that other handle set you are looking at buying can accept a Medeco cylinder that is in the format of the Schlage cylinder/tailpiece that can fit inside their hardware. or likewise, call Medeco and tell them the model of the new Weslock hardware you intend to buy and maybe they can tell you if they make a cylinder that will fit it.
good luck,
