When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Sounds similiar to the Falle style curve picks. I have made my own style and find them to be very proficiant on many style locks and pin varieties.

You should really try to purchase some or even have a look at the pick template thread and make yourself a few...I think you will like them.

Happy picking!

Agreed, they can be great if you have a spacious enough keyway. Make some out of hacksaw blades and give it a go ;)

Try the peterson "reach pick" . It's great for all sorts of locks. Give me 3 different hooks and a bagota... It's all I want!
*witty lock-related comment here!*

deep curve picks are probably the easiest to make with a dremel, one of the large round grinding wheels is perfect for wasting out the interior of the curve, you only have to move the tool a little bit to make a huge scooped out curve. Then the backside of the metal can be cut to compliment the curve.

Deep curve picks fulcrum off the interior warding of the keyway, this is an advantage on the deepest pins if there is no Max Adjacent problem with the 5 and 6 pins.

since the curve has its apex at the center of the pickshaft, this is not available to fulcrum off for the first three pins in the keyway. The shape that falle makes does not have any fulcrum forward designs, that would provide the same feel for mid to front pins.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!
