When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Im totaly new to lockpicking but I have managed to pick a lock a few times with some really ghetto tools. I wanna try to make like three basic picks ( Snake, half diamond, and a hook i believe its called). I atempted to make one last night with a dremel took but it just wasnt right. Ive searched the sight for templates but cannon acces any of them for one way or another. Could some one please help me out :(

Use a grinder instead of a dremal and some pieces of hacksaw blades. To make the hook is faster with a grinder. You don't need to make your tool exactly has the ones that are bought in shops. Just make them thin enough to enter the lock but large enough not to break easily. About the rake picks (snake ones), I always use the grinder but they would be better if they were made with a dremel (I have one but never bought the cutting discs). Has the hook pick, the snake and the diamond don't need to be exactly like the ones that are sold in shops. If you look carefully you will see that they come in diferent shapes and sizes. I don't know how to post pictures in the site otherwise I would post some good ones for you. If anyone knows to post pictures, please tell me how.[/img]

I don't have any snake blueprints made yet - went into autocad and discovered that I've basically forgot how to do it...but by the time you figger those out and get them made, you should be able to do it freehand.

Thanks, I'll put them in the forum as soon as I shoot them. If you have a downloads program like eMule or something try to find the video 'how to make picks for lock picking', that is a pretty good video that shows almost everything and explains a lot too.

I have opened my site back up with the username LSA and password Feb11. You can access it by clicking the www icon below.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!
