Well, I own both sets (great thanks to Rai) and here are my impressions on them.
The bogota (standard) is great as a jiggler tool..sort of like you're rocking back and forth until the lock opens. It is crucial that you use light tension when jiggling as I've found that this combination between the tension and the jiggling works effective on 90% of the locks I've tried.
Although the Monserrate is supposed to work in a similar way towards the bogota (the jiggling motion), I've been using it mostly as a rake tool as opposed to the conventional jiggling that everyone seems to do with Rai's picks. When I say that I "rake" the lock with the monserrate(s) respectively, I do not mean that I'm abusing them (putting the pick at the back of the lock and rapidly moving forward like a knife wielding maniac). In any sense, it is great if you slowly rake forward creating little circles and using the second monserrate pick with pulsating tension. This combination for me seems to work and it'll generally take less than 30 seconds for a lock to open. Of course, this is completely up to the user to choose whether or not jiggling with a monserrate or bogota pick compared to raking is beneficial for them. There is no 'correct' way to use these picks but as long as you're not being heavy-handed on them, they should last you a lifetime.
Happy Picking!
