what kind of locks do these lockers/cabinet locks use?

i called up an old client to try to drum up business and my endless delight (sarcasm) she apparently needs keys/locks for 10 lockers/cabinets! her business is easily 25 miles away so i got her to send me some pictures before i go off prancing. if anyone can advise me on what the hell do do for these locks, it would be much appreciated.

The file cabinet locks just push in to lock, I don't bother to rekey these, I just replace them. You can rekey them if you like prolly need a 1041JA? keyblank
the double D cutout needs a cam lock, that one with the key in it is made by ESP, but I usually stock National, so I would either rekey the old one or replace it

also too, what kind of pins/wafers do i need to use in order to rekey these bastards? i dont have a machine to cut these keys so i guess i might have to do some filling especially considering that the lady wants to have different keys for the locks and im pretty sure they dont have 10 different key default combinations for the 10 cabinet locks she won at an auction which by the way, none have keys too.

Sweet thing about doing this type of work, you can make a set of depth keys, or you can hand file a working key and copy it. Just switch around the wafer tumblers and if you don't have any more you'll hafta just work with what you do have. I charge $35 to impression a key, you'll be able to make a mint!

Why replace them? I'm sure nobody will be coming into her home to steal from these lockers & you can always scramble the wafers around if she wants a dif key

alright my plan is going to be, show up and grab the locks then find the right key blanks that fit these guys and file them down and adjust the wafers to new cominations and file some more.

i have pak a punches but no true all purpose code machine like a blitz and while i can afford a blitz/true code machine it just doenst make sense financially at this point. i would rather spend that money on seminars, safe tech equipment, schlage primus registration, and/or access control inventory.

I have been using depth keys in my van for over 20 years

figure ill charge her $35 x 10 add on some other charges for how many keys she needs and a $50 service fee and we will be square. sounds like money in the bank!

You guys are charging $35 to rekey a cam lock? You can buy new locks keyed alike for $5 or less each. IMHO it is not ethical to make customers pay for your lack of tools, knowledge or parts. I am frankly amazed that anyone would try to buy safe tools, get Primus certification etc. before learning about basics like cam locks. A code machine should be one of your first purchases. Space and depth keys are not very professional if you are master keying locks, it would take ages to do the job and one good masterkeying job would pay for the code machine. You can even lease to purchase.

It hurts locksmithing in the long run because the public will see our trade as a bunch of glorified handymen.

BTW the cam lock is a Wesko, not a generic lock. Cores are only a few dollars from Easy Keys and can be had KAA.

Does she need to rekey them or just make keys? Wesko has a code on them and it would take less than 10 minutes to look them all up and cut a pair of keys for each. The blank for the Chicago is a 1041Y, again the code is good so just make a key by code or hand file it if you feel adventuresome.
