See The Lock?

How do you open the lock to where you see nothing but inside the lock. Like rip a side off of it to see what's inside the lock without breaking the lock?

I assume you are talking about a cutaway lock. That's where I would start the search.

It's always my first stop for searching the site if I can't remember where I saw something.

Those are just the first of a few good cutaways that popped up. Of course you can see that many are made with industrial machinery, but you can make one with only hand files and a hacksaw. Just be aware that a hacksaw is not exactly a precision insturment so any cut you make is going to have to be cleaned up with a file. Good luck with it.
