The real difference between PCDI and F-BI?

Postby Neo » 1 Mar 2005 15:19

What is the real difference between these institutions?
I went to the foley-belaw.com website and it looks cheesy and knockoff like.
However the PCDI website is pro. And PCDI has been around for quite sometime and is known to give out certifications.

What is the difference?

I know that the FB course is well regarded; judging them by their website is a little like judging a hatmaker by his car. And they offer a private certification for course graduates as well.

i cant say i have first hand experience of either of these courses (although i wish i could!), looking around the site and reading around i've heard that the Foley Belsaw course is extremely good, whenever i have seen comments on it, they have always been in high regard.

The Foley Belsaw course will teach you how to work on locks and diagnose and remedy problems there in. I know nothing of the other course you mention, and the FB course will give you a graduation certificate upon completion which is all that is neccesary in like 1 or 2 states to become a locksmith, but most states have laws to protect the industry and merely possessing a graduate certificate is not good enough to gain entry into the field (legitamately). Therefore you will also have to figure on apprentising.
Student of Locksmithing and banjo player, so I am always pickin and grinin!
