Faultless locks?

Whats up guys i'm pretty new and i'm sure you guys get a lot of new people but I'v been trying to get this lock unlocked for about 45mins. I cant seem to get it unlocked with a bump key that fits. Is Faultless locks just unbumpable?

I'm very new at this but i am very interested in locks and would like to learn more

Have you tried picking it pin by pin (single pin picking :SPP)?

Faultless locks are known for their terrible tolerances. That means everything wiggles around inside when it's not supposed to. That means, kinetic energy is wasted as random vibrations in the lock, and the upper pins don't "hop" as much when you try to bump it.

As to "unbumpable"... I dunno, I doubt it, but I'm no good at bumping so I dunno. I do know that Faultless locks should be harder to bump and easier to SPP.

Thanks a lot. I just tried bumping first because i found the keys on ebay and have no clue where to get SPP tools. I'll be looking out for some tools. Are there any brands that are better then others? Do you think its possible to make them at home?

(bumping, while nifty, can't hold a candle to the thrill of picking a lock open. If you're here to stay, learning something of the hobby/profession/sport, there are some great links there to help you find a set of tools)

And, as DB said, plenty of reading to do. I told someone the other day that I was just sitting at home, watching some TV and studying, they said "studying what?" and I realized I was talking about all the stuff I was reading in LP101. You've come upon a great resource here, hope you use it well.
