you're right Theist17, over tightening the screws could led to screw breakage sometimes, also, I've noticed most decent locks cylinders now and with their right cam installed..they leave a micro space from the cylinder housing and the core, thereby, they wont be affected by a tightened retaining screws, whereby the cam lies on the core but not touching the Cylinder housing. Other lock producers, they apply some kind of a solvent to prevent the retaining screws from loosening up. generally speaking you're suggestion is the right one.."never overtightened the retaining screws." thanks pal.
