Newbie with Ruko locks.

Hi guys.

My lockpicking hobby started a few months ago, after I managed to lock myself out. I called for a lockpicker and he charged me 600 DKR for 5 minutes work. I make 100 DKR an hour, not including tax, so I would say its quite expensive.
After this I started thinking about if I would be able to do it by myself, so I bought a cheap lock pick gun from dealextreme along with som single pin pickers. I havent been able to pick my own door as of now. but when my friend locked himself out yesterday, I somehow managed to pick his lock after 15 minutes of trying.
I've read a bit about lockpicking, but cant seem to find good information on how I should use my tension tool.

I insert tension tool first.
Then insert pickgun directly under pins, and give it a slight angle so It should hit the pins.
Then I give a little tension on the tool and start "shooting" :)

Should the tension just be a constant slight pressure?
Should I reset once in a while?

Read the LSI guide, but It didnt say much about tension. Any pointers out there? :)

how many locks have you attempted to open since you started picking? how many guides have you read? How many locks in use have you picked in the pursuit of this new hobby? Theres lots of available info here and on the web about how to use lock picks, not nearly as much about how to use lock pick guns. We are all very dedicated hobbiests and as such prefer to hone our manual picking skills. Look around this website, read the stickied threads, if the LP bug bites you truly purchase some cheap locks and practice practice.
I punched punctuation right in the face!

I've only attempted 4-5 different locks, and from what I've read, it seems that there is quite a big difference between locks even though they may all be 5-pins.
I am looking for some good cheap locks, but as a student the money doesn't grow on trees these days :)
Only managed to pick 1 lock so far (Not manually). I guess LP'ing is simply learning by doing and getting the feel of how the locks work :)

I'f anyone should stumble upon a nice description of tension and lock pick gunnin, please give me a shout :)
