Ever since MASTER bought AMERICAN, I have seen a steady decline in the American product. Just yesterday I had an 1105 that felt "crunchy" when the cylinder turned. I took it apart and out fell a piece of brass shaving, about .015" X .024" ... About a month ago I got a brand new 700 and the cylinder wouldn't even pop. Actuactor not fully seated and gunk in the lock.
I can't tell you how many MASTER products I have taken apart with pins hanging up / roung operation due to "crud" in the cylinder .... Mainly brass "dust" mixed with some sort of sticky lubricant.
Whenever I get ANY product that is made by MASTER, the first thing I do is clean and lube it ....
I think PACLOCK and COMMANDO may be poised to give MASTER some competition. I hope so !!
