Does Master even have a QC department?

Uhh... don't think they do. The last person doing QC for them retired in 1972. Since then, nada. 8)

LEGAL DISCLAIMER - There is no historical accuracy in my comment above. However, if the commercials can say their disclaimer so quickly that only someone amped up on cocaine can understand it, and their printed advertisements can have fine print, why can't this disclaimer?
Just when you finally think you have learned it all, that is when you learn that you don't know anything yet.

Why bother?
They already bought out most of the competition...

Ever since MASTER bought AMERICAN, I have seen a steady decline in the American product. Just yesterday I had an 1105 that felt "crunchy" when the cylinder turned. I took it apart and out fell a piece of brass shaving, about .015" X .024" ... About a month ago I got a brand new 700 and the cylinder wouldn't even pop. Actuactor not fully seated and gunk in the lock.

I can't tell you how many MASTER products I have taken apart with pins hanging up / roung operation due to "crud" in the cylinder .... Mainly brass "dust" mixed with some sort of sticky lubricant.

Whenever I get ANY product that is made by MASTER, the first thing I do is clean and lube it ....

I think PACLOCK and COMMANDO may be poised to give MASTER some competition. I hope so !!
