That's a-maze-ing!

I imagine that if you turn too much, instead of changing direction as you did, the pin is pushed down again.

Cheers :)

Correct. And turning it anti-clockwise (counter clockwise on this side of the pond) a few times also brings it back to the center of the maze.

Here is a little clip of a Gougler padlock cutaway I made for GW to demonstrate how the lock works.

Great job! Thanks for sharing the short video. It's nice to see so well the mechanism in action.

Cheers :)

Hopefully to add to these explanations: here are the internals of a gas cap Gougler model I have. There are no reference points on the cap itself, so the combination begins by turning left to stop. Full combo is LS-R9-7-2.

It's not clear how the numbering on the labyrinth disk (205) corresponds to the final combination. The top bar is the locking mechanism in this model.

And my attempt at an "explanatory" image for my friends who have no idea what I'm excited about :P

Thank you all for your cutaways and videos!

Thanks for taking the time to show this lock in your posts guys. Pretty neat! A simply design with few moving parts.
