funny thing about spooks, many don't even bother logging in from anonymous terminals. i know the mods at candlepowerforums have exposed a number of individuals logged in from fbi.gov, just cause. you'd think they'd try harder at concealing their identity. unless it's some double-questioning uber psychology jedi mind-trick to throw us off...

Hi Guys,

What an amazing thread! Conspiracy theories abound...

First off, with regards to your acronym discussions. SFGOON's reference to CAG potentially makes him one of the most highly trained people in a world of highly trained people. If he is not going to tell you what the Combat Applications Group does, or is more commonly known as, neither am I (although devildog mentioned it in his second list!).

With regards to the 'agencies' listening in. I will make no secret about being in the AFP (Aust. Federal Police) for those who are not Chrispy, Skold or otherwise Aussie). I am a member of this site, who enjoys posting when I am in the country. I read this site for information and techniques, to maintain currency of skills. You can learn all you want in classes and books, but nothing beats 'street experience'.

As a last little point, somebody made reference to ASIO (Chrispy, I think) and MI5 (the all powerful db I believe) being interested in this site, amongst others. Contrary to popular belief, intelligence agenicies do not 'scout' for potential members from sites like this (EXCEPT in very special circumstances). It is easier to train someone in lockpicking who has the relevant clearance already, or call someone like SFGOON back into the fold. Also, FYI MI5 and ASIO are domestic agencies (MI6 and ASIS are their International counterparts).

Wow, I apologise for such a long post on an already lengthy thread, but I have been OS for a while and my 'creative juices' have been backed up (no jokes please!) .

Cheers,

N.

Nope, 'twas not I, but you don't need to be so formal with me... you can just call me "all powerful". The "the" is implied. :P (I'm seriously just kidding. ;) )

The reason I'm sure it was not me that mentioned MI5 being interested in scouting here is because I have never really thought it was very likely at all. In fact, my guess is that any of "the feds" would have little interest in this site in any professional manner, aside from a personal interest such as yours.

Anyway... good to have ya. :)

Apologies db,

It was Chrispy on both counts

Well, hello there ndgreen. :)

I would find it interesting to have some discussions with you. Welcome to LP101. :)

P.S. Am I correct on hearing the rumour of locksmtihs being sought by the AFP and ASIO?
