on most locks both sides of the shackle get locked in, so i'm gonna go ahead and say no.
otherwise, it'd be the same principal as shimming i guess... so it'd completely depend on the lock, and it'd be a pretty weak lock to have only one side of the shackle locked in anyways.

A lot of the time the latches are brass but it could work on ball bearing locks i suppose if say an electro magnet was used, its worth a try i guess but as plot said i would imagine the locks it would work on would be the cheap ones.

If this would work...Would it also work on Dudley Combo locks ? I know they have a latch, but I am not sure how it works.

I don't think it will work, and if it did it would need to be a very strong magnetic. But it is worth a try.

I knew that a long time ago, when a friend of Barry Wels found out that a big magnet could bypass the Winkhaus blue chip key.
I am sure that with a manget you can do many other things lol..
