DIY Jigglers?

Postby Chakra » 23 Jan 2004 1:10

I already make my own lockpicks and tension wrenches. A lovely hobby, it be. But i've always had a passing interest in jigglers ...does anyone have a set they could take a clear photo of, and even give out some measurements of them so I could then go on to making my own? An actual-size outline would be even better...

which jigglers are you talking about? I have the automotive pick set http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/shop/LT-620.html which is basicly a big set of auto jigglers. If you want photos of these I can try to help you out, but it will take a few days for me to borrow a digital camera.

That'd be grand if you could take some clear photos of the ends of all the jigglers...but i'd still need to know just how big to make them all. A basic width/length of the non-handle part of the pick would be nice.....although a better idea would be if you could just scan them with a piece of paper behind them. That'd be beautiful :D

If anyone else with other sets of jigglers could do this too, it'd be much appreciated

Another way I have been doing research is to "spider" a site for the images and find the best/highest res examples of pictures of picks and their shapes. I suppose I could put together a zip if anyone wants to look at what I have so far. One word of caution though, I have collected enough images to be about 18.0 MB zipped.

I have the same set as salzi684, but it's currently at work. If I don't see any results posted regarding pictures, I could scan them with some graph paper behind.

All I need to know now is how to attach an image from my hard drive.
Could someone help please?
Image If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!

I tried taking pictures of the picks today, but they were far to blury to be of any use. A friend of mine has a better camera and im going to try that out hopefully over the weekend. Its going to take some time, but I'm working on it.

madmike: Find a site to host your image and then just post the url here. Some of us use www.photobucket.com but you can use any webpage server you like.

OK, here it is for anyone that wants it. Be sure to get it fast because I can only host it for a short time due to the nature of the domain. Actually I'm only supposed to have my project files there but I figure this is a special case and none of the free services will take a file this large anymore.

i dont get this whold software pick thing. is it some sort of software that produces a good pick shape to make for a certain lock etc? Or am i way off track?

I keep hearing about them, called computer generated picks, etc. I wouldn't have a clue what they are.

Liquibyte,

I cannot get your file to open. What program did you use to create it or what do I use to open it?

Dan, you need WINRAR to open this file. Winzip wont do it, it doesnt recognize it.
