tempest key cutting machine: is this a good one?

tempest key cutting machine: is this a good one?

its a light use machine but accurate, in the uk its £300 or their abouts new

I have one of these and it does what its designed for. Its a light use machine and will do both cylinder and lever cuts but you need to swap the cutters and guide over to do this which takes about 10 mins. As i said its for light use and the little motor does heat up some if you cut a few keys. I cut 20 cylinder keys a couple of days ago and the motor was still warm 30 mins later after all its only got a little sewing machine motor. The best thing about this machine is its portabilty and weight, which makes it great for carrying on the van.

Incidentally, they also sell a 'code-cutting' wheel for this machine. Can anyone tell me how this differs from the cylinder and motice cutters? I am guessing that this relates to cutting from depth keys, but if so why is the cutter a different shape?
