Trying to put together an initial meeting, so far two people (me included) concrete on attending and both are in Bridgewater area, so that's where I'm currently looking to have the initial meeting. If there are enough other interested parties from other areas of the province we can shift the meeting place closer to the city. Since we also have an interested party in Windsor, I thought Chester/Chester basin might be a good location for future meetings, but I'm not sure what is available for meeting locations in those areas.
Bridgewater has my employer's office. I still have to run this by him, but it's just a spot for us to work without having to drive into the city, so no valuable stuff for him to worry about.
Superstore theoretically offers free meeting space for non-profit organizations. (This would preclude sunday meeting times.)
Sunday afternoon (say 2-4) works well for me, but of course I'm open to different ideas. (If there is anybody actually on here interested.)
First meeting might include such topics as:
-Where should we hold meetings
-When should we hold meetings
-Lockpicking theory & Demonstration of lockpicking, whatever else we can think of at the time.
I'll bring my supply of practice locks, and picks. The other guy who's sure he will want to attend will bring his set as well, and I'm sure he won't mind letting others try it out. If I remember, I'll also bring out a few print outs of the relevant sections of the criminal code, which I typically carry in my car, my wallet, and my pick-case.

Biggar, sounds good. Let us know well enough in advance, and we might be able to have a scheduled meeting while you're down.

Sunday Oct. 16, 2-4pm.
Location, "The Aberdeen" building on Aberdeen road, Bridgewater.
Directions coming in on the 103 from the Halifax direction:
Exit highway 103 at Exit 12.
Turn left, and keep going until you get to a set of traffic lights (There is an A&W at the intersection)
Turn right (you're now on Aberdeen).
On your right, you'll pass one residential building (house), the next building on the right is "The Aberdeen". (129 Aberdeen I think)
Go in the main entrance, stick to the left hallway, go till you smash into the Michelin door, back up a foot or two, turn to your right and go down the hall. Next door on your left is the one.
Office is new, and no signs yet, so it wouldn't even help if I told you it was Suite 104.

Thanks to all that attended (All two of you) and hopefully the no-shows will be available next time, and we can pack a few more people into the office.

Halifax upcoming meeting. (Both time & Place are not 100% decided, just an advance warning) Sunday November 6th 2005, 2:00 pm
Aberdeen building (Directions above)
This meeting we shall attempt to:
Decide on future meeting schedule.
Decide on future meeting location. (There is increasing interest in the City, so possibly move meeting location closer to the actual city)
Put together a more complete plan for the next meeting, which may include invitations to local RCMP officer(s).

Halifax, December 11th 2005
Rolecall: Devon, Frank, Denise.
A storm and associated power outtages prevented 2 regulars from attending, but 2 new attendees making the long trip from Windsor thankfully helped to avoid cancellation. Frank (Romstar from Lockpicking101.com) and Denise risked the icy roads to make the cross province trip. Welcome Frank and Denise.
Due to a damaged lock, and its subsequent need for repair, we were unable to get the LSI test kit for this meeting, so we've got our fingers crossed for the next meeting. Frank brought entertainment though, a Scorpion CX-5 which we disassembled and examined thouroughly to understand their sidebar design. The meeting also included the obligitory free picking session. Tears were shed, curses flew, and cylinders did eventually turn (well, some of them.)
Hopefully January's weather will cooperate (yeah right!) and we'll get some good turn-out for the next meeting. We're also keen on having a go at that test kit.
