Me too. Cod sarnit. If someone would like to share the sig through PM, it would be appreciated. I hate being out of the loop. :)

Ok, if you want to copy the key, what they did in the CSI episode is accurate. Just punch the key into a block of cheese you find in the garbage. The garbage decomposition process makes the cheese a perfect medium for imprintation, and with this you can make a key cut easily from bending a paper clip into the shape.

But, it has to be cheddar cheese. The other types of cheese have a different bacteria in them that de-oculyses the pin combination resulting in an incorrect mould. Trust me.

Cheese is waaaaay better trust me, but as Chrispy said: you really do have to get the right kind - i personaly i prefer Edam, but Cheddar is also good

round where I am i just walk down to the nearest industrial estate, and ask at the builder depots... I get to take as much as I want 8) ... man if they're stopping it better stock up whilst the going's good

ok this works great on the road if you dont have a key machine with you, get a dremel with one of those carbide grinders on it(6.00-7.00 dolla!) in sert the bit into the dremel until the smooth part of the bit is all the way inside the dremel. Now back the bit out just the width of a key blank. Clamp the origonal key to the key blank so the original is closest to the the dremel. Now fire it up and move the smoth part over the origonal while the grinder end takes care of the blank, takes a slight bit of care to pull of but not too much to make it extremely hard. um GO!

also ilco sells a cheapy cheap really small electric key machine that works like "all" the rest for about as much as a dremel is new ($250-280)
even better if you get it used, I havent had a customer call me back on a single key and i use it all the time... when my shop stocks me with ANY BLANKS AT ALL!!.... i love my job.. :)

You could imprint it into something soft like clay and then make a mold using a soft metal (lead). Then you can bring the copy key to a real store and have it made into a more solid key. Just don't breathe in the lead fumes.
