cb pick

Postby glecky » 18 Oct 2005 14:57

hi i have recently purchased the 5g cb pick hopeing to be able to pick a chubb 114bs but the curtian turner on the pick has a lot of play when inserted into the curtain hence it will get jambed in the lock once added tension is applied could one of u guys tell me if it is the right gauge pick (5/5.5g cb pick) or a faulty curtian on the chubb
thanks glecky

Your pick should be around 5-5.5mm od ish and the curtain should be 5.5mm id they do have quite a bit of play on some locks but not had a problem with a 114 before.

thanks shrub
i must be adding to much tension because every time i try to pick the 114 the curtian turner gets stuck halfway around the curtian
thanks anyway

Yes too much tension does that somtimes, lighten off a bit, if you can feel the levers binding youve got enough tension, if its a struggle to push the levers your useing too much.

i to bought this same pick - and am having trouble picking this same lock - am i right in saying that it is inevitable that one lever will fall into the false gate and as such it is a case of easing tension off a little for that lever - and then picking it. I always lose the other levers when i try this?

If you've just bought this pick you should try something a little easier to start with to help you get a feel for the pick. Try picking some ERA Profits or the Legge BS Value.

refreshing change in recent times chris, and ERA described as something easier.
even a year ago on 101 it was anyone know a drill point for an era, now its an easy lock to defeat.

well done guys, little moments like that make it all worthwhile and points a positive sign of the future to come.
