Can anyone shed some light on the significant differences between these two combo padlocks?

The 8077 has a slide on cover that covers the back of the lock and it's change key hole. To access the change key hole, you have to remove the back cover by screwing in a screw that goes into the shackle hole that's keeping it from sliding off. Then, to use the change key hole, you have to dial the combination to the change index, and then you can slide open the second cover to the change key hole. I think the 8088 does not have the first cover and that's the main difference.
